About Me

Hi! It’s me, Nora. I’m the artist behind Bluebrows Handmade. If you’re reading this, I so appreciate you stopping by and checking out my work! :) Here’s a little bit more about me: After bouncing around art forms my whole life, I had the great fortune of being introduced to the world of stained glass in 2020. My mother in law had the patience and generosity to share her craft with me, and after learning the ropes I was immediately hooked. With her guidance I completed my first piece, a pink and blue spiderweb. Holding it in my hands afterwards something just clicked. As dramatic as it sounds this was the moment I decided glass was going to be my thing and I was ready to dedicate my life to it. I immediately started hand drawing my own designs and creating glass pieces at home, trying to find my artistic voice. I made a private art Instagram account to document my work for myself and after some initial fear of rejection, I shared it. Then I was so nervous I immediately tried to delete the account, but I couldn’t figure out how. Fortunately I received kindness and encouragement from everyone who followed my art journey. Friends, family, and acquaintances started reaching out to see if I would make something for them and it made my heart burst with joy. Eventually I made this website, participated in my first art show, started doing vendor markets around town, and connected with a couple storefronts who show off small businesses. I love connecting with the artistic community in Austin seeing everyone else’s work. In my own practice, I try to make things that I think people will appreciate while also being true to myself as an artist. I pull so much inspiration from my inner child, the marriage of southern culture & queer culture that happens in Austin, my Tex-Mex heritage, and the beautiful landscapes of Texas. If you read all this, thanks for taking an interest in my story and supporting my dream! <3

Affectionately,

Nora with the blue brows
